Inorganic elements

Inorganic biogeochemistry is the cycling of elements as inorganic, non-living compounds that typically do not have (C-H bonds). These compounds include minerals, oxides, dissolved solutes, and salts. Although each element has its own unique biogeochemical cycle, many of them can be grouped together because their cycles have similarities. Here, the inorganic biogeochemistry of elements can be grouped into three broad categories: Alkali and Alkaline Earth Metals (salts), Major Transition Metals & Metalloids, and Rare Earth Elements.
